7th Biennial Asia-Pacific Meeting on Impotence

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I would like to invite you to attend the 7th Biennial Meeting of the APSIR in Shinjuku, Tokyo, from October 26-30, 1999.

The rapid developments in the field of ED are unprecedented and we are in the midst of an explosion of numerous effective therapies that are safe and appealing to patients. We are witnessing phenomenal demand for oral medications since the launch of sildenafil (Viagra) in March 1998. I foresees many more effective oral medications, which could be used independently of or synergistically with current therapies. Many ongoing international epidemiological studies, including those done in Japan and Malaysia, throw new light on the prevalence and socio-behavioral factors of ED. We are experiencing a revolution in the delivery of treatment to and overall management of ED patients.

I am confident that under the able leadership of Professor Nobuhisa Ishii and the Organizing Committee members we can look forward to a stimulating meeting, with much new knowledge, and an equally exciting social program.

I am looking forward to seeing all our members in Tokyo to update our scientific knowledge, share our experiences in this exciting field of medicine, and renew our friendship.

Do make an effort to bring along new members to enroll them in the growing APSIR, which represents half of the world's population.
