6TH BIENNIAL ASIA PACIFIC MEETING ON IMPOTENCE
BY LAWS OF
THE ASIA PACIFIC SOCIETY FOR IMPOTENCE RESEARCH

 

ARTICLE   I

PURPOSE

The objectives of the society shall be:

  1. To provide for close fellowship of its members in uniting their effort to improve the quality of care for impotent patients;
  2. To promote the aims, interests ideals, and programs of the International Society for Impotence Research;
  3. To serve as a means of communication between the members of each country.

 

 

ARTICLE   II

MEMBERS

Section 1. Classes of Members
The Society shall have classes of members: active and honorary.

  1. Active members: Active members shall be a persons residing or practicing in Asia Pacific Countries who apply for memberships in the society, get admissions from the councilors, pay all required membership dues and agree to comply with its bylaws.
  2. Honorary members: The Council may elect individuals as Honorary members, who have rendered distinguished services to the field of Impotence research or the practice in the world. Honorary members shall not be required to pay dues.

Section 2. Termination of Members
Membership in the society shall terminate:

  1. Upon the receipt by the council of the written resignation of member;
  2. Upon the failure of a member to pay dues for period of two consecutive years such member shall have been noticed in writing of such delinquency;
  3. In case of an active member, when such member shall cease to be a member of the prospective impotence research or practice.

 

 

ARTICLE   III

MEETING OF MEMBERS

Section 1. A meeting of the members of the society shall be held every two years in the cities of Asia Pacific Countries, the next meeting of the members shall be elected by the councilors in the meeting of the council.

Section 2. Special meeting of the members may be called at any time either by president, by the council, or by the agreement of one third of all members.

Section 3. Written or printed notice stating the place, day and hour of the meeting and, hour of the meeting and, in case of a special meeting, the purpose or purposed of which the meeting called, shall be delivered to each member not less than 7 days nor more than 30 days before the meeting either personally by mail, by or at the direction of the president or the secretary general or the councilors or persons calling the meeting.

 

 

ARTICLE  IV

COUNCIL

 

Section 1. The property and affairs of the society shall be managed by its council.

Section 2. Less than 3 councilors shall be elected by the members of the society in each country.

Section 3. The meeting of the council shall be held immediately preceeding the meeting of the members.

Section 4. Special meeting of the council may be called by request of the president or more than any four councilors, consists of 2 countries.

 

 

ARTICLE V

OFFICERS

Section 1. The officers of the society shall consists of a president, a secretary general and councilors. Only active members not older than sixty-five years in age may be officers of the society.

Section 2. The next president and secretary general shall be elected among the councilors by the councilors at the meeting of the council. If the election of such officers shall not be held at such meeting, such election shall be held as soon as may be convenient.

  1. President
    A president of the society is desirable who is elected from the country accepted the next meeting of members for a term of two years until the next meeting of members. No president shall be elected for more than two terms in succession.
  1. Secretary
    A secretary general of the society is also desirable who is elected from the country accepted the next meeting of members for a same term that of the president.
  1. Councilors
    The councilors of the society shall be elected from the members and by the members of each country and for term of an unspecified duration. Qualifications for councilor candidacy include:
  2. (1) APSIR membership; (2) recommendations from 3 councilors; and (3) attendance in at least one APSIR meeting. Executive committee membership will be disqualified if the members fails to be present in two consecutive APSIR meetings without justification.

 

 

ARTICLE   VI

FISCAL YEAR

The fiscal year of the society shall begin on the first day of January and end on the last day of December of each calendar year.

 

 

ARTICLE   VII

AMENDMENTS

These bylaws may be altered or repealed and new bylaws may be adopted by a two-thirds vote of the members present at the regular meeting of the society.
