Dear Delegates, Malaysia is delighted to play host to the First Asian Regional ISSAM Meeting on the Aging Male. With the world population rapidly aging, it is imperative that we be prepared for the potential challenges we will face in providing physical, mental and emotional health care for our aged. I would like to congratulate the organizing committee for having the foresight to recognise this need and commend their dedicated effort to help find solutions to these problems. The Malaysian government is strongly supportive of your work. We hope that you will take advantage of all that our country has to offer in terms of our warm Asian hospitality, mouth-watering local cuisine, and vibrant culture. Kuala Lumpur is a buzzing metropolis with something for everyone. The city is alive both day and night, offering local and international cuisine, sidewalk cafes, nightspots, shopping, bustling markets, theme parks and much more. Malaysia - Truly Asia! The organisers of the conference have also arranged for some pre and post meeting tours to enable you to make themost of your visit. Spelunkers will be captivated by the Mulu caves in Sarawak while history buffs will have a field day in Malacca, once the biggest silk and spice trading port in the world. Malaysia also offers excellent white water rafting and scuba diving adventures and nature lovers will be enchanted with the flora and fauna of the one hundred and fifty million year-old rainforest in our national park and in the Danum Valley - Sabah.
