Qualification of Applicants
Researcher residing in the Asia Pacific continent engaging in basic
fundamental and applied scientific research in the area of sexual
medicine whose achievement may contribute greatly to the advancement
of sexual medicine and the promotion of the Journal of Sexual
Medicine, the official Journal of the International Society for
Sexual Medicine (ISSM). The application is open to all APSSM members
only.
Research Grant
The First Award will be provided a total amount of US$10,000, and
the Second will be US$7,000. The grant is for the original research
that has not been carried out or published elsewhere. The research
grant is for a period of twelve (12) months duration. The recipient
of this award should publish the results of their study (original
paper) in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, and due acknowledgement
should be given to APSSM for the funding.

Deadline
The completed application form should arrived on or before August
21, 2006. Notification of awards will be announced after the APSSM
Council Meeting.
The decision of the Council is final and no correspondence regarding
the decision will be made.
Limitation of Grant Application
Recipients of 2006’ APSSM research
grant will not be entitled to apply for this grant.
Disbursement Procedure
The grant is to be disbursed to the selected recipients in
accordance with the agreed procedure of the Council.
Conditions of the Research Grant
The research grant is to be utilized for the stated purpose(s) of
the approved research project. If the recipient desires to use the
grant for a different research project, prior written consent from
the Council must be obtained.
The grant should be fully utilized according to the approved
schedule. Any unused balance of the awarded amount will have to be
refunded to the Council upon completion of the research. Prior
written approval of the Council may be obtained for an extension to
the completion of the project.
The recipient is to complete and sign the APSSM-JSM Research Award
Agreement that stipulates the general terms and conditions of the
grant.
Upon conclusion of the whole project, a final report is to be
submitted to APSSM Scientific and Research Committee. The recipient
should publish an original paper in the Journal of Sexual Medicine.
The grant is not taxable in the hand of the recipient.
