APSSM RESEARCH GRANT


Qualification of Applicants

Researcher residing in the Asia Pacific continent engaging in basic fundamental and applied scientific research in the area of sexual medicine whose achievement may contribute greatly to the advancement and the promotion of sexual medicine. The application is open to all APSSM members only.


Research Grant

The Council will provide a total amount of US$5,000 for 10 research proposals in the Asia Pacific region. These research grants (US$5,000 each) will be given to selected applicant. The grant is for original research that has not been carried out or published elsewhere. The research grant is for a period of twelve (12) months duration.

Deadline

The completed application form must reach the Council on or before July 10, 2006. Notification of success will be announced after the APSSM General Council Meeting.

The decision of the Council is final and no correspondence regarding the decision will be entertained.


Limitation of Grant Application

The grant award will be limited once in 2 years to give equal chances to more members and countries.
 

Disbursement Procedure

The grant is to be disbursed to the selected recipient in accordance with the agreed procedure of the Council.

Conditions of the Research Grant

The research grant is to be utilized for the stated purpose(s) of the approved research project. If the recipient desires to use the grant for a different research project, prior written consent from the Council must be obtained.

The grant should be fully utilized according to the approved schedule. Any unused balance of the awarded amount will have to be refunded to the Council upon completion of the research. Prior written approval of the Council may be obtained for an extension to the completion of the project.

The recipient is to complete and sign the APSSM Research Grant Agreement that stipulate the general terms and conditions of the grant.

Upon conclusion of the whole project, a final report is to be submitted to APSSM Scientific and Research Committee. The recipient should publish a summarized report in the APSSM News bulletin.

The grant is not taxable in the hand of the recipient.
